The recommendations of TÜSİAD at UN Climate Change 17th Conference to the Parties were as follows:

• The industry and private sector, which are under a serious obligation within the scope of EU harmonization objectives and climate change, should be given an active role within the related negotiation and harmonization process, and their information and experience should be consulted in the establishment of country positions.

• In the process of national capacity building, a strong partnership should be established with the responsible business sectors, and assessments concerning current status on sectoral basis, scenarios for 2020 and beyond, and action plans for adaptation to climate change and for reduction of effects, should be prepared.

• As a country responsible for the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions by means of international efforts, Turkey should undertake an effective role in compliance with its special conditions in the new order to be formed in the field of struggle against climate change.

• When setting the objectives in the struggle against climate change, various intersecting issues such as energy policies, investment areas, foreign trade, local governments, health, industrialization and regional development should be considered in an integrated manner.
