TÜSİAD addresses the tax reform in its latest issue of Görüş
TÜSİAD’s publication GÖRÜŞ addressed the prospects of tax reform in its latest issue. The magazine, published with the cover headline "REFORM ON HOLD FOR DECADES: TAX”, contains articles scrutinizing the informal economy dimension of tax and the relation of tax with democracy.
Ümit Boyner, President of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD, wrote an article titled "Ministry of Finance and the tax policies will continue to determine competitiveness" in relation with the cover subject.
The latest issue of the magazine contains an interview with Minister of Finance Mehmet Şimşek in the frame of the cover subject. During the interview, Minister ŞİMŞEK mentioned the struggle with shadow economy, and said:
“Our country needs to combat the shadow economy, to achieve an equal distribution of tax load, and to complete the efforts aimed at rendering our laws simple, fair and understandable. We will implement the action plan against the shadow economy and will rewrite the Tax Procedure Law and Income Tax Law.”
Minister Şimşek also noted that they aim to increase the inspection capacity by recruiting 1500 new assistant tax inspectors in 2012, in order to sustain a more effective combat against the informal economy and crimes of smuggling.
In the latest issue of Görüş magazine, the new position of China was inspected as a dossier. In this frame, the change in China's opinion on growth, China's energy policies, the urbanization developing in China and the role that Chinese middle class can assume in social development, were evaluated in detail. The magazine also includes assessments regarding the "Occupy Wall Street" movement.
