Beyoğlu Mayor Demircan visited TÜSİAD
Ahmet Misbah Demircan, Mayor of Beyoğlu, visited TÜSİAD Headquarters on December 21, 2011, and met with Ümit Boyner, President of the Board of Directors of TÜSİAD.
At the meeting, the services provided by Beyoğlu Municipality for Gedikbulak village, which was highly damaged during Van earthquake, were discussed. Demircan thanked for the support provided by TÜSİAD for a part of the container houses constructed at the village in the frame of the reliefs provided for Gedikbulak village of Van. The container houses, constructed after the earthquake in place of all the destroyed houses of the village with 2000 residents, are among the services provided. 55 of total 250 container houses were provided by TÜSİAD.
Demircan noted that they continue their efforts commenced at Gedikbulak right after the earthquake, and all the container houses with shelter, bathroom and lavatory were constructed, and the village people whose houses were destroyed continued their lives in a hot and peaceful medium. Demircan thanked Boyner, expressing their gratitude for the support provided by TÜSİAD, one of the most important organizations of Turkish business community, for eliminating the shelter problem of village people. During the meeting, Demircan and Boyner also exchanged ideas for making cooperation in some projects.
